When choosing a name for the digital marketing agency, I wanted something unique that held personal meaning. After much thought, I thought of blank slate and considered “Tula Rasa.” Our creative director emphasized that a name should resonate personally and be meaningful.
“Tula Rasa” is a word play on the philosophical term “Tabula Rasa,” which means “blank slate” in Latin. This concept, popularized by philosopher John Locke, suggests that individuals are born without built-in mental content and that all knowledge comes from experience and perception.

What is the History Behind the Name Tula?
“Tula” is a unique twist and or a personal touch, possibly representing something significant to you as a business owner. This name symbolizes a fresh start, creativity, and the endless possibilities of service that our digital marketing agency can offer our clients. It highlights our ability to help you build your brand from the ground up or explore new, uncharted territories.
What Culture Does it Originate from?
In Sanskrit it means balance or weight. There are various meanings in different languages and cultures and parts of the world. Depending which culture it is, there remain various different meanings. In Spanish or Gaelic it means leaping water. In Urdu, “tula” means balance and “tula-ras” means blissful experience. Urdu, an Indic language closely related to Hindi but written in Persian script, borrows elements from Persian and Arabic.

My Favorite Book
The Persian text reminded me of my favorite book of all time, Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist. The story of The Alchemist is about a Persian boy, Santiago who goes on a personal journey. The process of alchemy, turning lead into gold.
